WHY NUTRITIONAL THERAPY?

By taking account of an individual’s symptoms, history and environment a nutritional therapist can design an eating plan that is specific to each person. Furthermore, they are able to give support and advice in order to make the suggested dietary transition as easy as possible.

WHAT IS A NUTRITION CONSULTATION?

A consultation helps me to ascertain what it is you would like to gain from nutritional therapy and how we can work together as a team to achieve this.

On booking the consultation you will be given a questionnaire to complete and bring with you to your initial consultation.

The first appointment will be approximately 1 hour long and allows me to ask those general questions, which cannot be included in a questionnaire, but which are important in helping to form a picture of the sequence of events, which may have lead to your current state of health. It complements the questionnaire, which itself, helps to give an indication of the symptoms that are troubling you as well as their severity.

Within a week of your first appointment you will receive an individualised nutritional folder. It will contain advice based on the analysis of your questionnaire and the case history taken at your initial consultation. This will include both dietary recommendations and advice on supplements.

This is followed by a telephone consultation which allows me time to explain the nutritional plan designed for you. To gain the maximum benefit from this consultation, you are encouraged to read through the recommendations, making notes of any questions that you may like to ask me prior to the appointment.

Subsequent visits are advisable to help assess progress and adapt the therapy accordingly.
